We raised £9,200 at our golf day!

We held our annual golf day in memory of Mike Henthorn at the beginning of May.

Twenty teams took part in glorious sunshine at Peel Golf Club in the competition which is held to remember Mike, who was our former vice-chairman.

The event raised a fantastic £9,200, which was greatly helped by the generous support of Bill Mummery from Celton Manx Limited. Bill has been involved with the event for thirteen years.

We'd also like to thank Lewis Denning and Alex Hendry from Peel Golf Club, and Sam Skelton and Bill Dale for their involvement and support of the event.

Most of the people who took part in the golf day and some of Mike Henthorn's family standing on the golf course and smiling for the camera. There is blue sky and banners for Cruse and Celton Manx are on either side of the group.

This year, Mike's family — wife Janet and children Emma and Mark — donated a beautiful trophy for the winners to keep until next year.

This is the 14th year of the event, with the name being changed to the Mike Henthorn Cruse Memorial Golf Day in 2016, after Mike died in 2015.

The prizes awarded on the day were:

1st place - Investec Bank
2nd place - Suntera
3rd place - Atla Group

Mary added: ‘grief can be difficult so knowing our charity is here for those that need support is really important, reminding them they are not alone is key.’
