We're enhancing our adult bereavement services by the appointment of a paid part-time person. Cruse’s services have continued to be core to bereavement support on our Island. Our waiting list has been exasperated by the fact that Hospice Isle of Man is no longer delivering any bereavement support to children, young people and adults.
The role will be 20 hours a week to include one evening a week offering one-to-one session and group work. These sessions could be at Cruse HQ, home visits, Isle of Man Prison and other external settings.
CEO, Mary Doyle commented: “We already employ two Children and Young People’s Bereavement Specialists so this step is aiming to ensure all adults that need our help, at one of the most painful times of their lives, can access support in a timely way. We are very grateful to all our bereavement volunteers but realise we need to ensure no one grieves alone, minimising the waiting list and access support.”
